When was the last time I felt happy?

“I'm not sure I can remember the last time I felt happy”

This seems to be a running theme among my clients. We all come with predetermined blueprints that have come from our family of origin. How our parents interacted with us about our feelings is most likely how we display and feel our emotions now.

You want to feel connected to others and most importantly, to your own emotions, and is the beginning to how you uncover Joy.

How Do We Rediscover Joy?

Joy is a physical feeling, just like anger. When we watch our child play a sport and he or she scores, we stand up, shout, smile, throw our hands up in the air, we get loud… we take up space.

Make space for Joy and Happiness in your life.

1. Start Journaling.

2. Take note of experiences that make you happy.

3. Carve Out Time for You.

4. Give yourself permission to be a joy-filled kid again! It's not self-indulgent to pursue joy.

5. Dance in your living room to loud music, Invite friends over for a game night.

6. Get back to Nature. Dirt has a microbiome that can act as an antidepressant.
