Tanya Leukefeld has a Bachelor of Psychology, several specialized certifications in trauma-informed care, crisis management, high-risk interventions, restorative justice, and over 30 years of experience in the education and justice fields.
 
Tanya is passionate about helping families with the best support and resources available to help navigate the education system, from grades 1 to 12.

Tanya is also passionate with supporting individuals who may be struggling with:
Tanya has worked within the Calgary Board of Education for the last 23 years as a high school student services advisor, and before moving to Calgary, she worked with high-risk youth at the Ministry of Children Services and Families in Vancouver, BC. She spent several years volunteering with the Vancouver Crisis Centre, Calgary Distress Centre and the Calgary Police Service.  where she first found her passion for working with those with suicidal ideations. 
 
Tanya is an integral member of the Shelly Qualtieri & Associates team, helping families understand educational processes, advocate for appropriate supports, and create collaborative plans for student success.
  
She also delivers educational and corporate workshops designed to deepen the understanding of mental health and wellness through a practical, educational lens—offering strategies, insights, and tools that help families, schools, and communities thrive.

Tanya understands that navigating the education and justice systems can feel overwhelming, especially when loved ones are struggling. Her approach is rooted in collaboration, empowerment, and restoring hope. She supports families in feeling heard, informed, and respected while working toward personalized, consistent strategies for student success.
 
 
Tanya currently serves as an executive board member with local lacrosse associations and has been actively involved in Calgary’s hockey and soccer communities as a board member, coach, and player. Through her roles with these Calgary-based clubs, she fosters positive youth engagement and community development through sports.

 

Outside of her professional and volunteer commitments, Tanya enjoys spending time outdoors on a hike or relaxing on a patio. She’s also a proud mom to three teenagers and often finds herself on the road with them and their teams, traveling across the province for practices, games, and tournaments—always with a hot cup of coffee in hand and a good podcast playing along the way.
