IN-PERSON &Â VIRTUALÂ
Are you noticing signs of ADHD, academic struggles in your child, or challenges with mental performance on or off the field? You’re not alone—and with the right guidance, clarity and confidence are possible.
I’m Marizabel Forno, a Registered Provisional Psychologist and Provisional Sports Psychologist, offering in-person and virtual counselling across Alberta. I have over five years of experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, families, couples, and athletes in overcoming emotional, cognitive, and performance-related challenges.
I specialize in psychoeducational assessments for children (ages 6–17) and adult ADHD assessments, along with sports performance therapy to support athletes facing both mental health and competitive challenges.
ADHD & Psychoeducational Assessments
I provide comprehensive psychological assessments that offer clarity and practical strategies for moving forward. This includes:
-
Psychoeducational assessments for children ages 6–17
(including concerns around learning difficulties, emotional regulation, and school performance) -
Adult ADHD assessments
(for diagnosis, treatment planning, and personal insight) -
Assessment and support for individuals with acquired brain injuries
Whether you're a parent seeking answers for your child, or an adult navigating attention and focus issues, I’m here to guide the process with compassion, clarity, and clinical expertise.
Sports Psychology & Athlete Mental Health
As an athlete, you may face unique mental health challenges that impact performance, identity, and confidence. I offer sports psychology and performance counselling to help athletes and teams work through:
-
Performance anxiety and mindset coaching
-
Injury recovery and identity loss
-
Team dynamics and conflict
-
Transitions in or out of competitive sport
-
Mental training and emotional regulation techniques
I work with athletes of all levels—recreational to elite—helping them build mental resilience, enhance focus under pressure, and strengthen their overall psychological well-being.
I also work with a wide range of individuals including:
-
Anxiety and depression
-
Emotional dysregulation
-
Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)
-
Self-esteem issues

Every person’s journey is unique. At times, that path may include challenges such as performance pressure, difficulty focusing, or emotional struggles that can feel isolating and overwhelming. Whether you're an athlete experiencing mental blocks on the field, an adult navigating ADHD symptoms, or a parent seeking answers about your child’s learning needs, you don’t have to go through it alone.
As a Registered Provisional Psychologist and Sports Psychology Specialist, I offer a warm, non-judgmental space where we can work together to explore these experiences. My approach is collaborative, person-centered, and evidence-based, tailored specifically to support your goals—whether that’s gaining clarity through an ADHD assessment, building mental resilience in sport, or helping your child thrive through a psychoeducational evaluation.
I understand that life can bring moments of anxiety, perfectionism, and self-doubt—especially when external pressures mount. You may feel disconnected, misunderstood, or uncertain about the next step. My role is to meet you exactly where you are, and help you build the tools, insight, and confidence to move forward with purpose and clarity.
Together, we will focus on practical strategies that empower long-term growth, emotional regulation, and a stronger sense of self—whether you're navigating life transitions, relationship challenges, or seeking to optimize your performance in sport or school.
If you're ready to take that next step, I invite you to book a free 30-minute consultation. Let’s explore what healing could look like for you.
